Legacy XXI is a 501c(3) Enterprise offering educational and training programs to organizations and individuals whose social initiatives reduce the intransigent nature of human suffering. Our focus is to transform the helping industry, community, and its volunteers from co-dependency to co-creation.
Our vision is to shift the intransigent nature of inadequately operating civic cultures in a sustainable fashion to one with re-newed access to possibilities and choices. We envision a civic culture that empowers expanding opportunities and horizons by working together at the community level to shift prevailing malaise from co-dependency to co-creation. Our commitment is to work with organizations, groups, and individuals to access the leverage points of cultural shifts to bring about a new paradigm of sustainable and evolving progress. We will do this within a specified and obtainable timeframe, using minimal financial resources, and achieving measurable, meaningful and sustainable results.
We seek to do what is impossible within the current realm of the co-dependent world of care giving; the operational world of “them” and us”; the organizational realm of ever-expanding needs and funding based on growing numbers of people; the environment of hopelessness. Our intention is to empower a movement that envisions an end to social challenges as we know them today, a movement of culture-shifting strength emboldened to embark on a journey toward an objective beyond our current boundaries.
Our social enterprise, Legacy XXI Institute, asserts that we can co-create a legacy for our XXI Century – a legacy that re-affirms community and individual ability to re-access dignity, respect and opportunity and through that shift to sustainable re-newed opportunities and choices. Not just words -- an altered culture.
We say something very strange. It may even be the truth. Virtually all current “social responsibility initiatives” to do good in the community are contributing directly to the continuation and expansion of the very problems being addressed. Simply, most social and philanthropic initiatives are part of the problem and not the solution. As an individual or a leader of an organization, if your philanthropic bottom line were a correlate of co-creative, sustainable benefits you are producing for the resources expended, you would be, well, fired or replaced.
Admirable intentions, leadership, financial contributions, and volunteerism are doing virtually nothing to alleviate the intransigent nature of many serious social challenges. In all areas of social challenge, the market indicators are expanding. In other words, we are getting the least possible benefit for the resources spent and may well be part of growing the challenge so it is even greater next year.
Here’s the challenge: public, private, foundation and government organizations are unknowingly perpetrating a model of co-dependency and we would all be better served by shifting that way of doing business to one of co-creation.
Specifically, while we may want to continue some of our current caring programs, Legacy XXI offers an opportunity to alter the community culture within which the challenges are occurring and literally co-create a model of sustainable social breakthroughs for the individuals and communities currently being served.
We know most people’s intention is to make a difference through their commitments in the community – that’s why the Legacy XXI educational and training initiatives are particularly important to you and the legacy that you and your organization creates. Our business is to give your initiatives more bang for the buck. We can empower your existing or expanding initiatives in such a way as to get them “unstuck” and moving in the appropriate direction. We intend to kick-start community and organizational shifts from hopelessness and despair to an expanding horizon of new possibilities and choices. We can, in short order, empower you and your organization to initiate intentionally and swiftly what happens naturally and randomly: shifting the social culture and assuring its entrepreneurial support.
